Q: Where are RISE programs located?
A:
RISE operates programs at elementary and middle schools throughout the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita Valley, including Canyon Country, Castaic, Lancaster, Littlerock, Lake Los Angeles, Palmdale, and Pearblossom

Q: Can I choose the school site that I work at?
A: We try to match our applicants with an opening that matches their availability and is close to their home, college, or second job.

Q: What are the typical working hours?
A: Most positions are weekday after-school positions beginning around school dismissal. Program Instructors usually work until approximately 6:30 p.m. Exact hours depend on the school. A limited number of before-school positions are also available.

Q: Do employees work during school holidays and summer break?
A: Regular school-year schedules follow the assigned school district’s calendar. Each school district also has programs during school breaks and/or summer where employees have an opportunity to work.

Q: Do I need experience working with children?
A: Previous experience is helpful but is not required. We look for applicants who are dependable, patient, willing to learn, and interested in working with children.

Q: Do I need reliable transportation?
A: Yes. Employees are responsible for arriving at their assigned school on time. RISE does not provide employee transportation.
