  • POSITION: Program Instructor and On-Call Substitute Program Instructor
    LOCATION: Santa Clarita Area (Castaic, Canyon Country, and Newhall)
    STARTING PAY RATE: $18.50/hr ($18,75 after successfuly passing the probation period).
    SCHEDULE: Part time. Morning and afternoon shifts available. Approximately 3-6 hours per day.  Schedule and shifts will vary depending on school site and season (school year or summer)

    DESCRIPTION : 

    Program Instructors provide supervision, tutoring, homework help, and lead enrichment lessons for elementary school students. Candidates must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized sports activities and enrichment projects such as art, music, games, and drama. 

    REQUIREMENTS :

    • Must be at least 18 years of age and high school graduate or equivalent,

    • Must pass academic exam, Livescan background screening, and provide negative TB certificate

    • Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program

    • Attend meetings and events in the evenings and weekends as necessary

    • Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events

    • Assist with the recruitment and retention of students

    • Attend staff development trainings and workshops

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    • Stand for four plus hours per day

    • Stoop, bend, climb, and walk frequently

    • Lift up to 40 pounds

    IDEAL CANDIDATES are adaptable, energetic, motivated, and have excellent communication and organization skills. Ideal candidates have experience working with school age children and show an ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
