POSITION: Program Instructor and On-Call Substitute Program Instructor
LOCATION: Santa Clarita Area (Castaic and Newhall School Districts)
STARTING PAY RATE: $14.50/hr
SCHEDULE: Part time: Morning shifts available in Castaic (6:20-7:45am); Afternoon shifts available in Castaic and Newhall (12:00-6:15pm)

DESCRIPTION : 

Program Instructors provide supervision, tutoring, homework help, and lead enrichment lessons for elementary school students. Candidates must be able to design, coordinate and lead organized sports activities and enrichment projects such as art, music, games, and drama. 

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program

  • Attend events in the evenings and weekends as necessary

  • Assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events

  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of students

  • Attend staff development trainings and workshops

  • Must pass academic exam, Livescan background screening, and provide negative TB certificate

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Ideal candidates are adaptable, energetic, motivated, and have excellent communication and organization skills. Ideal candidates have experience working with school age children and show an ability to have positive interaction with children and adults.

Site Coordinators also create reports, and maintain facilities, supplies, and meet with school administration and parents to ensure a safe and engaging environment for participants. Responsibilities include designing and coordinating creative and effective academic and enrichment projects/lessons, creating lesson plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of activities. Coordinators represent and promote the program and serve as the point of contact for parents, students, and school personnel.
